postheadericon Anti Cellulite Food – Must

Do you know that more women have cellulite than men? It has got to do with the physiological structure of what lies beneath their skin. But this does not mean that men do not entirely have cellulite. In fact, those who have androgen-deficient conditions, such as Klinefelter’s syndrome, hypoagonadism, post-castration effects and those who undergo estrogen therapy for prostate cancer, also develop cellulite.

Lifestyle and lack of exercise also contribute to cellulite production. Nowadays, metropolitan men are becoming conscious with the way they look. We call them metrosexuals. They are straight guys who consider that use of cosmetics and supplements to improve looks are not exclusive domains of women. At any rate, men and women can help prevent build up of cellulite in their abdomens, thighs and buttocks by eating a lot of foods that were long recognized to help prevent or minimize cellulites in our body. Among these are the following:

1. Fruits and vegetables that are bright in colors contain lots of anti-oxidants that help our body get rid of toxins. Toxins sometimes accumulate under our skin and they reduce skin elasticity and restrict blood circulation in the capillaries. Be sure to eat substantial amount of these foods on a regular basis, such as blueberries, blackberries, blackcurrants, cherries, raspberries, strawberries, cranberries, etc.

2. Papaya helps prevent tissue damage. A good amount of papaya fruit in your regular diet helps the skin retain elasticity. Papaine, the substance present in papaya, helps your skin looks good and feel smooth. In some cultures, raw papaya is mixed with meat in stew as a tenderizer. Many body soaps now contain papaya extracts. In fact, some people are known to rub crushed fresh papaya leaves directly into their skins when taking bath.

3. Mangos and bananas are known to help promote good blood circulation. Sufficient blood flow to smaller blood vessels aids the skin cells with nutrients and rids out toxins that are also responsible in cellulite build up. Nutrients found in these fruits also help our body fight the retention of fluid.

4. Fruits and vegetables rich in lecithin help you prevent growth of cellulite. A study conducted in Japan, led by Dr. T. Iwata, published in the Journal of Nutritional Science and Vitaminology (Vol. 39), established that lecithin lowers our bad cholesterol and triglycerides while increasing good cholesterol. It also promotes better blood circulation and strengthens the skin. Among those rich in lecithin are oranges, grapefruit, apples, spinach, cauliflower, carrots, tomatoes, Fennel bell pepper and avocados.

5. Foods that have diuretic properties help our body fight fluid-retention. Build up of excessive fluid inside the fat layers provide an ideal condition for the rapid growth of cellulite. Examples of these food items are watermelon, cucumber, celery and asparagus.

6. All citrus foods are high in Vitamin C. They help us produce healthy natural collagen that promotes skin elasticity.

7. Aside from a major additive to enhance flavor, onions are also known to help our body release water and prevent its retention underneath our dermis. 8. Protein-rich foods also help fight fluid retention. Vegetarians may choose alternative protein sources, such as legumes. Poultry and less fatty dairy products also help us boost our collagen levels.

Next time you go to the grocery stores or eat outside, look for these foods if you want to prevent or eliminate cellulite that gives you that ugly orange-peel look.
