Cellulite Removal at Home
Cellulite, the eternal enemy of women, can with a few simple steps be reduced or even eliminated! Nine out of ten women suffer from cellulite, even if they are very thin! However, the local accumulation of fat does promote the appearance or the aggravation of the situation.
Cellulite is the deposition of water and fat between the skin and the subcutaneous tissue. It occurs due to poor blood circulation and the swelling of fat cells of that particular area of the body. The connective tissue loses its elasticity and the skin looks like cottage cheese.
This condition usually appears in the thighs, buttocks, stomach, abdomen, legs and the inside of the arms. It’s attributed to the sedentary life, reduced physical activity, unhealthy diet, disturbances in blood circulation, hormonal disorders, heredity, smoking, and high alcohol consumption.
Cellulite is a complex phenomenon and addressing it, requires continuous and systematic effort to change your lifestyle and diet, as well as perseverance and patience.
So, here are a few simple steps to get rid of cellulite:
- Lose weight, if you must: You should try to obtain an ideal body weight determined by body mass index (BMI). BMI equals weight in kilograms divided by height in meters. To have the ideal weight ratio you should have a value below 25. If the value is higher then you are considered overweight or obese. Cellulite and fat are closely linked, so if you want to get rid of it you should also try to get rid of fat. To do that, you need to stop the transformation of food and its components (mainly sugars) into fat. This means that you should eliminate or at least reduce sugar and simple carbohydrates like white bread from your diet.
- Increase your water intake: Water consumption (not with meals) makes your metabolism work better. Water is an essential substance that plays a key role in the metabolism of all essential nutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, fats). The intake of water should be proportionate to the intake of calories (approximately 1 ml of water per 1 kcal). However, in high temperatures and profuse sweating your water consumption should be even higher.
- Limit your intake of salt and salty foods like canned foods, chips, salted nuts and salty cheeses, which cause fluid retention and make the problem worse.
