Every Sunday Tashagogo presents her practiced and preached health and beauty tips…

Good morning to all my fellow beauty worshipers. We are gathered here to the House of Meg to learn about new ways to keep ourselves looking ravishing….Hallelujah!!! This week my sermon is about the benefits of Extra Virgin Coconut Oil .

About 5 years ago I was watching Oprah, she had a show about women defying age. She had all these gorgeous women on that looked about 20 years younger than their age. There was one woman that stood out. Her name was Morjorie Newlan. This woman came out and she had the tightest body you could imagine, her skin looked as smooth as butter and was so taught and glowing. She was about 81 yrs young. HELLO!!! They showed her whole story how she started lifting weghts at 72, ate oatmeal every single morning..Here comes the big one. She used coconut oil on her skin every day. That was the thing that I never forgot.

Morjorie is now 86. That’s her picture on top of the post.I’m not about to go lift weight anytime soon. I can handle the coconut oil !

There are many wonderful things that have happened to me and this chunky body, due to Coconut Oil:
†It has made my skin so soft and smooth
†The chicken bumps on the backs of my arms have subsided greatly
†My cuticles are so healthy
†Cellulite has diminished
†Prevents acne breakouts
†Sugar cravings are lessened
†Bladder empties better

There are so many more benefits. I drink a teaspoon in the morning and one at night. It can also be used as a hair conditioner. After I get out of the shower while my skin is still wet…I slather it all over me. It’s wonderful to put underneath your eyes before you go to sleep. It keeps that delicate skin nice and hydrated. It’s also great for HLD (healthy Cholesterol) and it’s said that it helps the thyroid. If anyone wants more extensive details ask me more specific questions in the comments below.

I order my EVCO from ebay, best price and super quick shipping…Nature’s Way brand! This is what the Nature’s Ways bottle says: Dosage As a dietary supplement, take 1 to 4 tablespoons daily. May be used as a spread or added to salad dressings & smoothies. For cooking use Coconut oil in place of butter, margarine, shortening or other cooking oils for baking or frying in temperatures upto 350 degrees (medium heat). For skin care use Coconut oil as a moisturizing lotion. Place jar in warm water to liquefy, then massage small amounts onto the skin. For hair care use Coconut oil as a conditioner. Once liquefied apply 2 teaspoons to hair 1 to 2 hours before washing.

Girls…We need to try to keep as healthy as we possible can and if we can do it naturally…There’s no better way to go!!! Can I get an AMEN !?!

Ladies, have you had any miracles with Extra Virgin Coconut Oil? Let us know!

Between the coconut oil and the Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar, you
drink salad dressing every morning ;)

  • Cellulite:

I came across this review from June of 2007 on Extra Virgin
Coconut Oil (EVCO as the general public refers to it) and it has
really changed my life already! After reading everything I could
devour on Meg’s website from these riveting
reviews back in 07’ I went on line and read
everything else I could about what other people experienced from
EVCO and discovered that EVCO has done wonders for so many people
on SO MANY LEVELS! I was hooked and went out and purchased my first
small jar of it and started taking 3 tsp a day. Then I started
putting it on my skin at night – first I’d use
it to remove my makeup (it’s awesome for
removing eye makeup too) and then I’d put a thin
layer on my skin (yes this sounds scary) but
it’s just amazing at what it does while you are
sleeping! When I wake up, my skin looks just fantastic and I keep
looking in the mirror stunned at the obvious changes that are
happening to me! In all honestly something fantastic is occurring
with my skin and I love it! My age spots seem to be fading away on
my face, my wrinkles are less pronounced (it’s
almost like they are going away to some degree) and the sun damage
on my chest…well it’s astonishing how much
better my chest looks now! Every day I look in the closeup mirror
and just think WOW! I feel like I’m turning back
time in regards to my skin and I gotta tell you – I feel fantastic!
Another day I pulled it through my hair and left it on like a mask
and when I rinsed it out – and the shampoo DID take it all out
without any greasy reside which is also quite remarkable – my hair
felt very luxurious! The list of things that EVCO does for you is
enormous but I can only remark after using this for almost 4 weeks
straight that I feel like I could be a walking commercial for EVCO!
Of the 3 brands I have tried Nutivia is my favorite in flavor and
texture. There are several websites out there that sell this – so
shop around for the best quantity you can get for the best price!
Be SURE you get Extra Virgin Coconut Oil – it has to be exactly
that! It’s organic and when I first looked for
it I found it at Whole Foods and my local co-op.
    It’s a little pricey but it’s
wonderful and I doubt I’ll ever want to be
without it again! Just today again someone commented on how good I
look and it has to be the EVCO! I feel like I have discovered a
miracle anti-aging skin product and it’s done
more for my 60 year old skin than absolutely any other product I
have ever used – expensive or cheap – over the counter – or only
available on line! But that’s just me…try it
for yourself and see if you don’t notice some
wonderful effects happening to you! By the way…I even tried
slathering it on my feet before bed (I covered them in soft socks
right after) and again…when I woke up – SOFT FEET!!!!! Have I
mentioned how great my fingernails look? They are white and strong!
In a word EVCO = YIPPIEEEEE!

  • Cellulite:

I finally bought EVCO a few weeks ago and love it! It really
does give your skin a special glow and I love the way it smells
(although it’s much more subtle than you might
think). It is wonderful for cooking as well. So far
I’ve mostly used it for stir frying vegetable
rice dishes – smells really wonderful with fresh ginger. I’d really
encourage others to give it a try. I also have a really sappy story
about EVCO’s role in rehabing a kitten that was hit by a car.
During her recovery this was one of the only things I could get her
to eat. Her name is Sunday (because we found her on a Sunday and
the vet needed a name right away and I was flustered). Now I like
that there’s a connection back to
Tashagogo’s wonderful Sunday Sermons – which is
where I first learned about EVCO. When I was desperately trying to
figure out what might entice her to eat, I found that lots of
people have EVCO available for their pets (especially cats) all the
    time.

  • Cellulite:

I am so glad to have stumbled upon this Sunday Sermon! I have
ordered the Coconut Oil pictured in this post from Ebay and I am so
glad that I did. It smells WONDERFUL (to think I have searched for
a perfume that smells like this only to be disappointed in the
plastic drydown of the scent)! Once this product has been applied I
can close my eyes and imagine that I am vacationing in the tropics!
I am not sure others can notice it but I enjoy the scent while it
lasts. Now, for the reason we actually are using this product: It
moisturizes like CRAZY and seems to last on my skin much longer
then typical creams or lotions all the while giving my skin a nice
sheen. I have not ingested any as of yet due to the fat/calories
but at some point I just might! …did I mention it smells
    wonderful?

  • Cellulite:

I can’t wait to try this . . . Is this part of anyones regular
routine?  Do you put it on your face, neck and chest with
    a cotton ball ?  Please share!hao

  • Cellulite:

I’ve got a question, doesn’t it make your face greasy? I’m so
oily and acne prone, I can’t imagine but anything with “oil” in the
name on my face. My body is another story. I’d love smelling like a
    tropical smoothie!

  • Cellulite:

I just take a teaspoon of it and drink it straight. It makes my
mouth and teeth feel really clean all day long…I love this
    stuff!!!!

  • Cellulite:

Hello! I recently came upon your review and fabulous follow-up
reviews on this oil and am wondering if you are still using it!
Your review was over a year ago but your commentary made it sound
so fabulous that I ordered some today! I love that it seems to
benefit inside and out! Do you have any follow-up thoughts about
it? By the way – you are absolutely stunning!

  • Cellulite:

Thanks Tashagogo, I am off to get me some of this today! How is
the taste? Can’t be any worse thanthe ACV. Well, I guess you do
drink salad dressing every morning. I wonder how the two would
taste together….probablly not good, but you never know.

  • Cellulite:

The salad dressing idea actually isn’t a bad one! I’m not sure I
could ever really bring myself to drink straight apple cider
vinegar or coconut oil… but maybe if I mixed them together and
threw in a few spices, I could drink my recommended tablespoons!
Hahaha. Oh ladies, the things we do for beauty!

  • Cellulite:

Any coconut oil/lotion is good for you really.. o_o

  • Cellulite:

This blog is very addictive. After reading the benefits of
Coconut Oil, I went to the Health Food Store and found Jarrow’s
Brand & decided to give it a go. Blended one teaspoon in a
banana smoothie this morning and resulted in very tasty interesting
outcome. I will keep it up, 1tsp = 125 calories, dang! Utah desert
living makes my skin completely lizard like at times; after showing
the picture of Marjorie to my Hub–he’s all for it!

  • Cellulite:

Does it matter which kind I get. I want a really big size
because I use a lot and I dont wanna have to keep buying more and
more. So I found this one on Amazon thats raw, unprocessed extra
virgin coconut oil, and its like 1 quart, but its natural, like
they say they dont put any added stuff in it, would it be less
effective than that Natures way one. I mean is the natures way one
a lot or like a small jar? Do you think it would matter what kind I
    get?

  • Cellulite:

I love coconut oil! I use it right after I shower instead of
lotion sometimes. It smells wonderful and makes your skin super
soft. I have also used it as a hair conditioner…makes your hair
feel so wonderful. I learned about coconut oil from a friend who is
from India. I’m lucky because my grocery store sells it…they have
a wonderful organic area that sells stuff for face and body. I
would bet Whole Foods has it too.

  • Cellulite:

i was so excited to see this article about coconut oil!! i am a
huge fan of it and all my friends are using it now! i tell
everybody about it–it truly is a WONDER product- not only is it
good for your skin, but it has antibiotic, antiviral, antifungal
and antiparasitic properties that will keep you healthy (if you
take it internally). it is a great source of caprylic acid and
lauric acid (only other source is breast milk). it raises your
metabolism and core body temp– it has helped to lower my husband’s
cholesterol. it is fabulous! it makes a wonderful body oil that
does not contain parabens or chemicals that can cause cancer. not
to be too personal, but it is also a phenomenal lubricant:)

  • Cellulite:

oh my I’m getting this A.S.A.P.!!!

  • Cellulite:

My mother has been trying to get me into this for a few years
now and I’ve resisted…stupid girl! I guess I shouldALWAYS listen
to mom…though she meant it for cooking and not necessarily hair
and beauty. But if it can do everythingwhy not! My question…does
ingesting it with the ACV make you sick at all? I’ve tried ACV
before hearing that itwould help cut down my cravings but it made
my stomach turn. What other affects do you ladies get from ACV and
howmuch do you take? Any advice/education on ACV would be greatly
    appreciated!

  • Cellulite:

I’ve actually started using this as a purfume because it smells
    heavanally

  • Cellulite:

I’ve been using EVCO on my skin for about 6 months now. My skin
looks and feels wonderful. I haven’t been eating or drinking it
though. How do you drink yours?

  • Cellulite:

We have documented the process of actually making VCO (if you
live in the tropics) in a short photo essay –
    http://central-america-forum.com/forum-topic/how-make-virgin-coconut-oil
    (or click here).

  • Cellulite:

Hey sis! It’s been forever! Me and my sis Tash go to the same
church, even though I live in the West Indies and she lives in the
US! Ask me how? We both truly enjoy and LOVE the benefits of EVCO
and Apple Cider Vinegar. Extra virgin coconut oil was introduced to
me way back when i tried to find a natural remedy for the spots
acne had scarred me with. However, i wasn’t old enough or exposed
enough to know where to look for it or to know what the Extra
virgin was way different from regular coconut oil. HOWEVER, i found
    a bottle of my mom’s and i haven’t gone back since. IT’s
lucious!!!! It smells like freshly baked coconut cakes! I love
it!!! I truly do!! For everything, i will start using it as a
conditioner in my hair now too!! Thanks Tash, ur a doll!

  • Cellulite:

I have a question? Does it get rid of cellulite? And can I buy
it at the super market? Can I use any kind?

  • Cellulite:

Between the coconut and the apple cider vineager – are you
actually every hungry? Because that seems like one hell of an
    anorexis-style weight loss plan.

  • Cellulite:

You girls are so sweet!!! I think we should put the ACV(apple
cider vinegar) and EVCO(extra virgin coconut oil) together and sell
it as a salad dressing!!! We could sell it on QVC…we’d be rolling
    in the dough!!!

  • Cellulite:

i love coconut oil for my skin and hair but i have never tried
it internally. i think i have to put that on my list along with the
    apple cider vinegar.

  • Cellulite:

I have become a follower of the Tashagogo religion! I am off to
get some EVCO (coconut oil) and ACV (apple cidervinegar) as I
suffer from many of those annoying ailments that have been cured or
lessened by the use of these. I *especially* despise those red
chicken bumps on the backs of my arms. My dermatologist gave me
some AmLactin cream that seemed to help a bit, but they are still
visible. I am always looking for some more natural methods
toimprove my skin. You rock Tashagogo – keep your Sunday sermons
    coming! XO, GEM
